Black & White & Wild All Over!

I am participating in my local quilt shop's block-a-month quilt at Rachael's Fabrics in Lubbock, Texas. I am learning a lot about constructing traditional quilt blocks. My skills are improving with each block. Before making the block out of the store's kit that we purchase for $1 , I try out making the block in black and white fabrics. Here are a few that I really like.

Hobbs Challenge is now My Own Challenge

Guess what? I decided not to follow the challenge rules. So what else is new? I just don't follow the rules very well. It is still in progress and going slowly but I like the direction it is taking much better. I just didn't like that floral patterned fabric so out it went. Plus I was too restricted with the rule to add only 4 additional fabrics. More is better! I am still loosely following my original sketch. The flowers are all paper pieced using the technique I learned in a workshop with Katie Pasquini Masopust.
