Photoshop Color Experiments

Here are several versions of a note card I made this week to send to a friend. I made it by cutting out sections from a workshop color experiment in watercolor. The right section was cut from a different place in the watercolor. It was a big surprise to me to see how the lines and square registered together ~ like it was only cut there and pulled apart. The watercolor was painted in lime green and purple ( top photo ) . The other photo colors were changed in Photoshop by only sliding the "hue" bar. Technology is amazing!

Yummy Fabrics!

Here is the wonderful treasure I happened upon this week!!  Jane Sassaman fabrics at half price.  I found them at my local quilt shop Rachaels.  I may use the purple and green dot in place of the purple in my re-do of the tulip quilt.  I will audition that fabric and test it out as a possibility.  So yummy and no calories!  If I never make anything with them, they are great inspiration just having them in the studio.

New Yummy Threads

My how time flies when you go out of town for a few days.  It takes a while to get back into the routine.  Not to mention losing an hour to the daylight savings time change this week.  I am doing my best to get back in the swing of my creative work.

My next step with the tulip quilt is to put a layer of cotton batting and a backing fabric pinned together. Then I venture on to the machine quilting.  It is always daunting to get to this stage.

On my recent trip to Santa Fe, I picked up some beautiful new thread at Santa Fe Quilting.  It is Sulky varigated blendables.   I am looking forward to trying it out.  I'll let you know the results.
