Welcome to my Studio(s)

 Welcome to my Studio(s)

--Donniece Smith

Living alone, my studio is pretty much my whole house.

Below are photos of three small bedrooms about 10 x 12  And my dining area.   They are divided into what I call my Office,  The Bead Room,  The Sewing Room

This is my office  "bedroom"
My laptop is there in the corner reflecting the window.
The quilt on the wall is my first art quilt.

Now sewing room
My sewing machine used to be behind my desk in office.

Sewing Studio  "Bedroom"  2nd photo
Set up these shelving units recently.
All of this was in a closet in my office.  I really had it packed in there.
Much better now to see and use what I have.

Sewing Studio  "Bedroom"  3nd photo
The view from the lazyboy chair  to the TV
and down the hall to the Beading room
A bathroom inbetween on the left

Dining Room Painting area
Set up these shelving units recently.
This wonderful table is drop leaf.
When both are down it is big enough for dining.
With both up it is a sofa or hall table.
Here is it in between with one down, one up.
Also great light from three  "bay " windows

I whisk the painting stuff away if I ever have dinner guests.

No art areas in my master bedroom.
I do have more of those black drawer units in my living area h
olding supplies plus a cabinet in the living area holding beads all hidden away.
A cutting table is my laundry room.

Thanks for stopping by

Signature Gypsy Earrings Galore!

Click photos to enlarge and see every bead and string!
I hung these earrings on the glass containers as I finished them and
thought they looked pretty. These all went out the door yesterday
with two customers. I am glad these cheerful baubles
make people happy! I hear they will be worn on a cruise.
Does that mean I have a resort collection like the big name designers?
Friends are beginning to call them my signature earrings

Sequins, Stitches and Stardust

Creativity is, foremost, being in the world soulfully for the only thing we truly make, whether in the arts, in culture, or at home, is Soul. ~ Thomas Moore, Care of the Soul

Being an artist means ceasing to take seriously that very serious person we are when we are not an artist.
~ Jose Ortega y Gasset

When we move toward our own creativity,we move toward our Creator.

With a Gypsy Heart....

These earrings I am currently making are going hand in hand with
my current writing and latest poem so I am calling these my
Gypsy Heart line of jewelry! Enjoy the poem!

With a gypsy heart,

she was a strong but quiet rebel

living only internal dreams

in her corporate cardboard world.

With a gypsy heart,

she was enslaved in a cubicle

with the hold button on her dreams

and her passions in a file folder.

With a gypsy heart,

she began to dance with dreams

of new possibilities and knock on

the doors of bold adventure.

With a gypsy heart,

time began to ripen her confidence

until "invisible" was no longer an option.

The rebel was ready to blossom.

With a gypsy heart

she set sail on a new course

to navigate life with her soul by

listening to her wisdom and to her lust.

With a gypsy heart

she blazed amazing flaming trails

with the moon over her head

and the twinkle of stars in her eyes.

With a gypsy heart

she knew she would never be the same

or bring this romantic life to a halt

for where destiny called, she would go.
